I've banned a number of anti-feminists recently, and warned repeatedly against thread drift. Short of adopting Ampersand's "feminist-friendly" comments only policy, I don't know what more I can do.

Funny thing is - most MRA forums are actively looking for feminists to debate with - they are welcoming any opposing thoughts. To avoid 'thread drift', they start threads with particular feminist statements, and the debate begins. Maybe something for you to consider Hugo.

Two statements you made Hugo on this thread:-

1. Note that she doesn't say "all male feminists are bad"

2. No, I don't like some of the language she chooses to use. No, I don't agree that all male feminists are frauds or narcissists or predators.

I would consider "frauds, narcissists or predators" to be filed under "bad".

Also I think an egalitarian will treat all people as innocent until proven guilty. If you assume somebody to be guilty first, often you WILL find fault with them and dismiss them much more quickly. That's a very unfortunate way to judge people. I don't think any white person I meet is a racist until proven otherwise, nor do I think a man is a misogynist until proven otherwise. Just as I give women the benefit of the doubt.

We are all humans first and fall into arbitrary categories second (race, gender etc). If we choose priorities in that order, you will not only trust people more, but they will trust you more.

MVa, I'm not trying to run a debating forum. This is a personal blog, where I'm more concerned with friendliness and civility than a war of words.

It is always easy for privileged folks to insist on innocent until proven guilty. A man walking into a parking lot late at night, seeing another man approach, will have an easier time with this than will a woman.

Actually, men are far more likely to be beaten up in that situation than a woman. That is not an "easier time". Still I don't think all men I meet at night are going to beat me up (innocence before guilt).

It's interesting how you constantly use the word "privileged". How does privilege manifest itself in that situation, given that I'm statistically more likely to be beaten up (even killed) as a "privileged" member.

Fair enough. You're certainly not bucking a feminist trend there.... :)

A black man walking into a parking lot late at night, seeing another black man approach, will have an easier time with this than will a white man.

LOL. In that situation, I guess if I take Hugo's logic, a white man is suddenly part of the oppressed victim group here.
