Thank you, Kelsi. I'm still proud of this post, and stand by every word in it.

The only food that is accessible, either financially or because of transportation issues, is fatty, empty calories. Poor people eat that because they have no choice. There are entire sections of cities that have NO grocery stores, and little or NO public transportation. Time is also a factor. If public transportation is nonexistant or inadequate, one may not have the time between getting off of work, school, picking up the kids, etc. to get to the grocery store that is ten miles away.

Independent of what society thinks is an attractive figure, there are good reasons for eating alot less. It is called a Caloric Restricted Diet, and is the ONLY half-way proven way to extend your lifetime.

So, less calories per day, still with enough vitamins, minerals, etc., means living longer.

Is that an incentive?

"Again, I'm absolutely convinced that real liberation comes in the bold assertion of one's right to pleasure -- and pleasure ought never be solely about bringing joy to others."

I agree. Besides don't they have term for people who derive pleasure solely from pleasing others. CODEPENDANT

Food should be a pleasure. But it is not the solution to loneliness, depression, insecurity or other non-nutritional reasons that people overeat.

And non-eating (anorexia, bulimia, etc.) are also the wrong path.

I like(actually I don't but I force myself) to ask myself "Why do I wanting to eat this? I'm not hungry." Usually the answer is attached to some emotinal need. If I'm sown it makes me feel better or some other BS.

I find perimeter shopping really helps me buy the right sorts of foods. All the processed (aka "bad-for-you" foods) are on the shelves in the grocery store but the fruits, veggies and meat are on the perimeter of the store. Minimizing the consumption of processed foods really seems to make a huge difference in my overall health, not to mention what it does for my waistline.

Unhealthy foods

This is true, women always thinks of this tasteful foods. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. In my own experience, I always think of foods, which restaurant, what food to eat etc. andwas unable to check if it is healthy or not.
