I find this post very interesting, Hugo, and it certainly makes a good point. I don't know if I necessarily agree with the first part of the argument, but the second part makes some sense. We applaud historians who study the history of feminism and the influence of women in history (such that it is). I don't see why it couldn't be done with Christian historians, as long as "they do not violate any essential rules of academia or of public life". I don't know how strongly I feel about it, but it does make sense.
