Okay, so we didn't have the agreement that I thought we would on prostitution; the debate is on in the comments section.
We did have this fine exchange between Jeff JP (to whom I apologize for my intemperate words yesterday) and Amanda in the comments section on the masculinity post:
Jeff: Prayer is good. We need more of it. You may be interested to know that I pray for feminists, even the most vicious man-hating ones.
Amanda: If you pray about all the vicious man-hating feminists, isn't that sort of like praying for the salvation of unicorns?
Now that's what I call "civilized needling", which does have a place in the blogosphere!
I'm getting ready to sit in front of the TV, watch the debate, and pay bills (something I do regularly on the last day of the month). I may not be able to last long (at the watching, that is; the bill paying I can muddle through nicely). Honestly, it is getting harder and harder for me to believe that Kerry has any hope at all. Am I a bad person because I am thinking of reneging on my promise to vote Democratic, and contemplating voting Green for a third straight election?
It occured to me today that I listen to only two kinds of radio stations these days: National Public Radio and Pacifica on the FM side, and talk radio on the AM side. I cannot find any commercial station that plays the music I like any longer. Does this mean I'm getting old?
I realize that I am one of the very few bloggers out there who blogs under his full name and puts his picture up. I can understand why female bloggers might be reluctant to do both, but why are so many men reluctant to do it? Is it fear of workplace retaliation? Am I just narcissistic? Am I making a mistake by splashing my name and my pics all over? (Only the italicized question needs an answer.)
